We held an event of Nihongo Hiroba "Seminar on How to Sort Garbage" at Miyako Central Public Hall Annex on June 30, 2018.
We read a leaflet together to know how to sort garbage, did a group work to make sure if we could sort various garbage correctly and checked when we should take out the garbage according to the areas of residence, and did a role play.
19 people joined the event (5 international residents in Miyako and 14 Japanese residents (including staffs)). The way to sort garbage differs greatly depending on the country, and it seems that a lot of foreign people are confused about the Japanese way of sorting garbage. During this event, international and Japanese participants tried sorting actual garbage together.
