On Tuesday nights from Aug. 29 to Oct. 3, we held "Study Group for Eiken Test" in the Annex of Miyako City Hall.
Administrative officers, staffs of affiliate organizations, members of Miyako International Association, and those who were eager to learn English joined the study group, with the purpose of improving comprehensive English proficiency including vocabulary and grammar.
People of all ages from a junior high school student to retired people joined the study group. Each of them chose a grade, studied by themselves asking lecturers questions, and prepared for the first-stage examination.
Those who passed the first-stage examination will need to take the second-stage examination (speaking test). We are going to hold a practice meeting before the second-stage examination.
We are planning to hold study groups for Eiken Test and TOEIC from now on too, hoping that these opportunities will enhance the motivation of the citizens for learning English.
