We held a Mexican Cuisine Cooking Class "!Mexico en Miyako!" at Flatpia Miyako on June 18th, with Mr. Nieda Tsuyoshi Eduardo as a recturer, who is from Mexico and currently lives in Kawai. 36 people took part in the class.
Before starting cooking, Mr. Nieda told us about Mexico and its traditional cultures. After that, the participants got really heated with some Mexican traditional games.
We cooked three different types of Mexican dishes and a drink.
The first one is "Huevos a la Mexicana". It's a kind of scrambled eggs, and the three colors of ingredients represent the national flag of Mexico: the red of tomatoes, the white of onions, and the green of peppers. The second one is "Quesadilla" with ham and cheese. For dessert, we made "Platanos con crema" using bananas, sour cream, cinnamon, and sugar. We made also "Agua de Limon" using a lot of fresh limes.
You can find ingredients and recipe of these dishes in pdf. Please click the icon below.
After cooking, we tried the Mexican dishes made by ourselves. Everything was fantastically delicious.
