We held "Namibian cuisine cooking class"

We held "Namibian cuisine cooking class" on July 7, 2019 at Flatpia Miyako.

During Rugby World Cup 2019, Miyako City was an official camp venue for Namibia. In this context, we held "Namibian cuisine cooking class" in order to learn the gastronomy, history, and culture of Namibia, with Ms. Fredrika (Anita) Sasaki, originally from Namibia and resident in Miyako. About 20 people from inside and outside Miyako joined the event. We cooked three traditional Namibian dishes: Pap & Wors, Schnitzel, and baked beans salad.

Before starting cooking, Ms. Sasaki told us about Namibia, and Mr. Moriai from the Board of Education gave a brief description of Rugby World Cup.The participants cooked and tasted the authentic Namibian dishes which is very difficult to find even in big cities like Tokyo.
