We joined the parade of Miyako Autumn Festival on Sep. 16, 2018, as a part of the group "Kizahashi-ren" led by Mr. Taichi Nakagawa, a classical Japanese dancer.
Prior to the festival, the participants practiced dancing at Yamaguchi Public Hall. On the day of the parade, they performed dances wearing beautiful yukata (informal cotton kimono) livening up the festival.
International participants practiced hard traditional Japanese dancing which was new to them. We hope that it was a good opportunity for them to experience traditional Japanese culture and to interact with the local citizens.
