It's a river pouring into Miyako Bay from the Kuzakai-kogen Highlands and has many tributaries and lets you enjoy beautiful scenes in all four seasons. During the fishing season from spring to autumn, you can catch not only mountain trout and landlocked salmon, but also ayu (sweetfish) from July when the open season begins, and many fishers from various places come.
It's a comprehensive recreation park standing along Heigawa River. It contains Yuttari-kan, an accommodation facility, as well as an indoor athletic field and auto-camping ssite, allowing you to use the park as an outdoor leisure center.
